ESKIMO JOE RELEASE BRAND NEW SINGLE
ESKIMO JOE ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE
’’MIRACLE CURE”
RELEASED TODAY AND AVAILABLE here
Hot off the back of their APRA Award nomination for Most Performed Rock Work for their song, ‘The First Time’, Eskimo Joe are thrilled to unveil their banger new single ‘Miracle Cure’.
Written and recorded between Kav Temperley & Joel Quartermain’s studios in Fremantle & Melbourne, they were also fortunate enough to get Oscar Dawson from Holy Holy to mix the song, which brings a new flavour to their sound. The video clip was shot by cinematographer David Le May, who captured the energy of the band performing live at the historic Old Customs House in Fremantle. They have blended Picnic at Hanging Rock with Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu to create their own version of ‘Australian Gothic.’
Says Kav “Miracle Cure is about the search for redemption and how only love can pull us back from the edge. It’s about hope and the vulnerability that comes with trusting someone to save you. This song is about confronting our flaws and finding strength in love and hope, even if the cure were searching for might not exist.”
While successfully straddling the line between commercial success and managing to keep their Alternative Music roots secure, over their 28-year career, Eskimo Joe have racked up a long list of impressive accomplishments. With 6 studio albums under their belts and sales in excess of 750,000, in Australia alone, the band has seen 3 of those albums debut at number 1 on the ARIA charts, with juggernaut ‘Black Fingernails, Red Wine’ shining for a monster 62 weeks in the ARIA Chart Top 50 and “Foreign Land”, from their fourth album ‘Inshalla’, bringing home 2 APRA Awards, for Most Played Rock Song on Australian radio and Best Rock Song of 2010.
Eskimo Joe have enjoyed 35 ARIA nominations in their career thus far – a number only surpassed by Silverchair, Powderfinger, Kylie Minogue and John Farnham. They have brought home 3 International Song-writing Awards, 11 WAMi Awards and 8 ARIAs and 11 of their compositions have featured in Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown, with ‘Black Fingernails, Red Wine’ landing 2nd place. That same single hit multi-platinum in Australia and spent 62 weeks in the ARIA Top 50.
