Anita’s Theatre Celebrates Its Centenary With New “Encore Club” Honouring Artists Who Keep Coming Back
Thirroul, Dharawal, NSW – 22 October 2025 – Anita’s Theatre is turning 100, and to mark the milestone, the beloved Thirroul venue is launching the Anita’s Theatre Encore Club, a heartfelt tribute to the artists who have made its stage their second home by returning five times or more.
The Encore Club will be officially unveiled as part of the centenary celebrations, along with a commemorative plaque in the foyer marking Anita’s Theatre’s 100-year milestone, to be revealed by Federal Member for Cunningham, Alison Byrnes and City of Wollongong Lord Mayor, Cr Tania Brown, on October 22, 2025.
Leading The Encore Club is none other than The Wiggles, who have brought joy to generations of families with a record-breaking eight shows at Anita’s Theatre. Close behind is James Reyne with seven performances, while the “Six Club” includes beloved names such as Arj Barker, Paul Kelly, Bjorn Again and The Bootleg Beatles.
The “Five Club” celebrates icons including Kasey Chambers, Jon Stevens, John Williamson, Hindley Street Country Club (who’ll notch their fifth show as part of the anniversary program), The Whitlams and The Waifs.
A host of other favourites are also right on the cusp of joining the club, including Missy Higgins, Colin Hay, Sarah Blasko, Katie Noonan, Russell Morris, Kate Ceberano, Richard Clapton, and Boom Crash Opera, proof that Anita’s keeps artists coming back time and again.

The Encore Club plaque will become a permanent feature of the theatre, sitting alongside archival posters, photos and fan memories showcased during the centenary. Fans are also invited to share their favourite Anita’s moments on social media, ensuring the living history of the theatre continues to grow.
