Kicking off at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne on Friday 28 April, the tour heads north, playing Riverstage, Brisbane on Wednesday 3 May, onto The Entertainment Quarter, Sydney on Friday 5 May before a west coast show at Burswood Park, Perth on Sunday 7 May.

The party-starting machine is responsible for some of the biggest hits of the last few decades and his incomparable energy and true passion for live shows, makes him the icon he is. More than your average DJ set, Fatboy Slim takes things to a whole new dizzying level!

‘Immediately, it felt as though we were transported into what could only be described as the inner workings of a raver’s mind. As ‘Eat Sleep Rave Repeat’ pounded out from the speaker stack, intense visuals overpowered the atmosphere; accompanying proceedings with Norman Cook’s own mouthing of the lyrics, altered pictures of himself, clips of his old videos, people singing, and unsettling CGI; turning the musical celebration as a sensory overload that could only be described as pure insanity.’ – Tone Deaf

About Fatboy Slim

Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, entered the UK acid house scene in the ‘90s. Early success came with the release of hit singles ‘Everybody Needs a 303’ and ‘Going Out of My Head’, taken from Better Living Through Chemistry. Soon after came ‘The Rockafeller Skank’, a precursor for hit album You’ve Come A Long Way Baby, which delivered his first UK #1 in ‘Praise You’, as well as club banger ‘Right Here Right Now’, which peaked at #2. Halfway Between The Gutter And The Stars followed, featuring ‘Weapon of Choice’, with an unmissable video directed by Spike Jonze and starring Christopher Walken dancing in an empty hotel lobby. It’s widely regarded as one of the best music videos of all time, having won several awards, including a Grammy for Best Music Video. Cook took things to another level again with the undeniably huge ‘Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat’, and more recently with massive singles like ‘Where U Iz’ and ‘Boom F**king Boom’ and last year’s banging ‘Praise You (Purple Disco Machine Extended Remix)’.

Most recently, Fatboy Slim released ‘Right Here, Right Then’, a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the infamous Big Beach Boutique. The album, out now via BMG Australia – here, is available in hardback book and CD digipak formats, comprising multiple recordings of the original set, a brand-new DJ mix, DVD of the original concert, 48 page 12” book with photos and foreword by Fatboy Slim and much more across both formats.

On July 13, 2002, more than 250,000 concert goers gathered on Brighton Beach, in what was described as the “biggest event the UK has ever seen.” The crowd was more than four times the expected size and at the time, doubled Brighton’s population. A year earlier, about 40,000 people attended the first of the Big Beach Boutique events. But in 2002, Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, performed the second of his free open-air concerts on Brighton beach in front of a record-breaking crowd. From the first-time ravers, the veterans and the dedicated superfans to the curious locals, it felt like the world went down to Brighton for Fatboy Slim’s Big Beach Boutique II.

Fatboy Slim says: “I think I was too stressed on the day about crowd safety to really take it all in, to fully enjoy the experience. Now I feel I can look back at the footage, remember the tunes, that sunset, my home seafront looking like a carnival in Brazil, so many beautiful people having the time of their lives, I have never seen such joyous madness, such good natured abandon…A wise man once described me as ‘a shepherd of moments’”.

With 10 MTV VMAs, two Brit Awards and a Grammy, numerous high-profile Ibiza residencies, a Beats 1 Radio Show, a record 20 consecutive years playing at Glastonbury, and even a show on The Great Wall of China, it’s no surprise Fatboy Slim has a reputation as one of the most consistently popular DJs and producers on the planet. A party lover through and through, Cook is fuelled by the joy of his audience, which becomes a feedback loop of energy at every show that sends the vibe through the roof.

20 years after those historic, era-defining gatherings, Norman continues to push the envelope and remain one of the most in demand DJ’s and purveyor of quality beats in the world. Fatboy Slim isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, and his upcoming Australian tour will be no exception.
