Firmly stamping themselves as one of the country’s most exciting bands, Floodlights have unveiled new video Things You Do, as premiered by Paste Magazine, exhibiting a powerful narrative. Directed by Jarred Osborn and shot around the Mornington Peninsula, Paste says: “a brilliant, intimate and deeply reflective lyrical benchmark for the band, whose dynamic rock ‘n’ roll pedigree steamrolled right into their sophomore album perfectly.”

With new album Painting of My Time drawing widespread attention, the band will hit the road on May 26, covering off vast distances to play live to capital city and regional audiences – a true national tour to share their new music.  They have enlisted an array of exciting local supports to open for them on the tour (see below for full rundown).

The band’s second long player, Painting of My Time features first single Human, follow up Lessons Learnt, title track Painting of My Time, the album closer, Wide Open Land, and new single and video, the immensely powerful Things You Do. The album marks a natural departure and arrival, an evolution as a group, and as individuals, fuelled by life’s singular and shared experience. A response to questions asked over time, written down, and yelled with the conviction of honesty. Listen to Painting of My Time here.

Floodlights are riding high with activity on a global scale, finding new champions and audience at every turn. On the back of performances at this year’s SXSW in Austin the band landed a new booking agent for UK and Europe – ATC Live (Black Country New Road, Black Midi, Grace Cummings, Mac Demarco) and UK/Europe distribution through Virgin Music.

In Australia, Floodlights recently supported PavementThe Killers and Rolling Blackouts Coast Fever (national tour), alongside playing Tent Pole Festival and all Falls Festival dates over New Years. Name checked by outlets as diverse as Frankie, Monster Children, The Age, NME, The Guardian, Forte, Music Feeds, Pilerats and more, they have built a loyal following based on powerful lyrics, impressive musicianship, and compelling stage presence.

Following their Australian tour, Floodlights will be based in London from July – October and are confirmed for Visions Festival in London on July 22, along with the End of the Road Festival in September.
