Strictly D.T Drops Single “Flower” Feat Liona Tatafu and Alex Ford + WA Tour + Decial Like Special Album Out 17 February

Rising rapper and HALO Vocal Ensemble’s MC Strictly D.T is gearing up to release his awaited album Decial Like Special, with his latest drop ‘Flower’out now. Featuring the resplendent voice of HALO Vocal EnsembleLeader and vocalist Liona Tatafu and breathtaking bars from Perth based artist Alex Ford, ‘Flower’ navigates the vast multitude of emotions we experience in conflicting compatibility and capabilities of growing apart or together. This latest single is taken from Strictly D.T’s eagerly awaited album Decial Like Special set for release on Friday 17 February 2023, ‘Flower’ will hit streaming services in time for his show at Bunbury Fringe with Cultural Renegades on Saturday 21 January and an album preview party at Hommes Highgate in Perth on Sunday 22 January.

Produced by a trio of talent; former Berliner now Australian based DJ and producer Deepchild is joined by drummer, teacher, and turntablist known as Dizz1, adding the grooves on electric bass guitar and bass synthesiser is Jesse Chin-Quan, with the track mixed and mastered by MattyMadeIt, ‘Flower’ explores the journey to find your other half, the highs and lows, the boom and bust. Alongside the familiar respected and reflective lyrics of Strictly D.T, the story unfolds with a spin from Alex Ford, and tasteful soul melodies from HALO Vocal Ensemble’s choir leader Liona Tatafu.

Out on Friday 17 February 2023, Decial Like Special takes on topics of mental health, relationships, family dynamics and more through the lens of Strictly D.T and his community. This collection of 22 works dives into often stigmatised conversations so frequently kept behind closed doors, with the tracks interspersed with sampled recordings from D.T’s nearest and dearest, and even his therapist – “I wanted to share real  conversations that I believe other people are also having everyday within themselves or  with others, sharing these open conversations to destigmatize open and vulnerable  communication.” – Strictly D.T.

 As an artist believing wholeheartedly in the significance of collaboration, Decial Like Special is no exception to D.T’s philosophy, collaborating on each and every track with local and Australian artists, producers, rappers, DJs, and more.
