UB40 Featuring Ali Campbell Adds Perth to Big Love World Tour
MONDAY 25TH AUGUST 2025: Due to high demand, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell have added a Perth date to their Big Love World Tour. The unmistakable voice behind UB40’s biggest hits will bring reggae cheer to one of the city’s most iconic outdoor venues, Kings Park & Botanic Garden. Backed by the latest incarnation of his extraordinary band, Ali Campbell will deliver a spectacular show; joined by special guests The Bamboos, Drax Project, and Drea.
Fuelled by the anthems that powered UB40 to 70 million record sales, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell is the reggae and pop collective responsible for serving up hits including Red Red Wine, (I can’t Help) Falling In Love With You and Kingston Town to name a few. Formed in 1979, the band has impressively scored 50 singles in the UK charts throughout its expansive career, not to mention enormous success and acclaim on a global scale including right here in Australia.
Ali Campbell says, “Really excited to be coming back to Australia, the connection we have built over the years with our Aussie family is a special one, can’t wait to be back down under once again.”
UB40 featuring Ali Campbell will unleash a formidable live set that contains material spanning over four decades. In remaining true to the authentic reggae spirit that kick-started his music career in the late 70’s, the lead singer brings the band’s legendary catalogue back to life. Backed by a powerhouse nine-piece touring ensemble and fresh off major stages worldwide, Ali’s band is widely regarded as “the most authentic realisation of UB40’s original aim of advancing reggae in all its guises.”
Now into their 25th year, The Bamboos have maintained their worldwide reputation as trailblazers of Funk & Soul. Their 11th studio album This Is How You Do It signals yet another stage in their continual evolution. The album explores new ground yet remains unmistakably the trademark combination of Lance Ferguson’s Soul powered production style, their effortless groove powered by a nine-piece band and Kylie Auldist’s incredible voice.
The Bamboos have been nominated for seven ARIA Awards (including back-to-back nominations in 2022 and 2023) and five APRA Songwriting Awards. They’ve blown away audiences at festivals and venues everywhere from London to Tokyo to playing in front of 15,000 people at Womadelaide. The list of international and local guest vocalists that they have collaborated with is testament to the respect they garner, and include the likes of Aloe Blacc, Durand Jones, Megan Washington, Tim Rogers, Daniel Merriweather, Dan Sultan, Urthboy, Alice Russell and Joey Dosik.
Drax Project are Shaan Singh (lead vocals, sax, keys), Matt Beachen (drums), Sam Thomson (bass, keys, BVs) and Ben O’Leary (Guitar, keys, BVs). From humble beginnings as buskers on the streets of Wellington, New Zealand, their unique Pop RnB sound has seen them supporting the likes of Ed Sheeran and touring Europe with Camilla Cabello and Christina Aguilera. Their performances around the globe have established themselves as one of the world’s emerging ‘must see’ live acts, with highlight US performances including the i-Heart Radio Festival, Rolling Stone Magazine’s Coachella party and two sold out headline club shows in New York.
Drea is a talented, young singer from Perth who captivates audiences through her vulnerable ballads and outspoken dancefloor fillers. She started her music career in church and remains connected to her faith through music. Drea is heavily influenced by gospel, hip-hop and R&B, blending the styles to create her own unique flavour.
