Morgan Evans Releases Title Track for Upcoming Sophomore Album ‘Steel Town’

MELBOURNE – February 13, 2026 –  Solrise Records / Virgin Music Group’s Australian-born, Nashville-based country star  has dropped the title track of his upcoming sophomore album Steel Town today – listen HERE.

Written by Evans with Ava Suppelsa and Sam Ellis, “Steel Town” is an ode to Morgan’s hometown of Newcastle. The autobiographical jaunt and album opener includes an interlude of a vintage commercial advertising what Newcastle has to offer, interspersed amid Evans’ lyrics about his upbringing.

Morgan explains the sentiment behind the song, saying, “Steel Town is about where I come from and why I am the way I am. Newy was a beautiful place to grow up, but also a tough one, and we poured all of that into this record.”

The title track joins latest release “Two Broken Hearts” feat. Laci Kaye Booth, “a raw, emotional ballad about healing, hope, and the slow journey back to love” (Country Now), and “Beer Back Home,” Evans’ first single of this new era.

Steel Town, out March 20, was written over a period of reflection spent in Newcastle, where Evans re-centered, tapping into a deep vein of creativity and reigniting his passion for songcraft. Evans returns to his hometown this Valentine’s Day for his first performance of the year at Howlin Country 2026.

Evans also announces his national album tour today, returning home this May and June for a bumper seven-date theatre tour of Australia and New Zealand.

Kicking off on Thursday 21 May, the Steel Town Tour will head to Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane, plus all ages shows in Adelaide and Sydney, before stopping in Auckland and Christchurch in June.

Morgan says, “The Steel Town Tour will be the biggest tour I’ve ever done. The biggest show, the biggest band and a record that was created to be shared live! I can’t f***ing wait!”

On the back of their stunning duet ‘Two Broken Hearts’, Morgan Evans will be joined by special guest Laci Kaye Booth (USA) on all dates.

ABOUT MORGAN EVANS

Beneath the globally appealing country sound Morgan Evans is known for runs the unmistakable influence of his coastal Australian roots. Raised by blue-collar parents on a few acres of land along Australia’s east coast, he carries that grounding with him wherever his music goes.

It’s been two years since he last released music. Evans spent much of that time in his hometown of Newcastle, the steel city where he first fell in love with songwriting. That period of reflection tapped a deep vein of creativity, ultimately bringing him back to Nashville with a renewed passion for crafting songs that resonate on a global scale. Today, his music has been streamed over one billion times worldwide, a testament to the universal connection he’s built with fans.

His 2018 debut album, Things That We Drink To, catapulted Evans into international acclaim, delivering his first-ever country radio #1 with the Platinum-certified “Kiss Somebody” and the Gold-certified fan favorite “Day Drunk,” while drawing praise from Rolling Stone, Billboard, PEOPLE, and more. In 2022, he headlined Australia’s biggest country music festival, CMC Rocks, and has toured extensively across North America and Europe.

Following two more EPs, Evans hit a new career high with the release of the raw and viral “Over For You.” The track marked a cathartic reset and culminated in two sold-out nights at the iconic Sydney Opera House, just down the road from his hometown—a milestone captured on his 17-song Live at the Sydney Opera House album.

Evans is now preparing to launch his next chapter with his hotly anticipated sophomore studio album, Steel Town, set for release on March 20, 2026.
