Waterparks (US) announce long-awaited Australian return
Three years after their last visit to Australia, widely adored experimental pop-rock trio Waterparks (USA) today announce they will bring their energetic and banter-filled live show across the country in February 2027. Joining the Houston outfit in Australia is alt-pop icon girli (UK) and Australian rock wunderkind Maple’s Pet Dinosaur.
Across a vibrant ten-year career spanning six studio albums, countless shows, and over 1 billion streams, Awsten Knight (vocals, guitar), Geoff Wigington (lead guitar), and Otto Wood (drums) have built one of modern rock’s most exciting, shapeshifting catalogues. Whether headlining theatres or festivals, or supporting My Chemical Romance on a sold-out arena run, Waterparks connect with audiences wherever they go through their genre-blending, hook-fuelled tracks and undeniable charm.
Waterparks first touched down in Australia in 2018 supporting The Maine, before returning later that year for an appearance at Good Things Festival. Following the release of their fifth record INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (Fueled By Ramen) in 2023, the band returned for their first headline tour down under, selling out all dates and prompting a venue upgrade in Melbourne from 170 Russell to The Forum.
With their new album JINX (BMG) in tow, including the delightfully chaotic “TELL ME WHY” featuring Mark Hoppus, Danny Elfman and more, fans have been calling out for Waterparks’ return to Australian shores. Now the time has arrived to witness their chaotic and colourful performance in their biggest Australian headline venues yet.
The No No No No No Tour will kick off on Sunday 14 February at Melbourne’s Forum (18+), followed by Adelaide’s The Gov (Lic AA), Perth’s Astor Theatre (Lic AA), and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre (Lic AA), before wrapping up in Brisbane on Sunday 21 February at The Tivoli (18+).
girli first toured Australia in 2024, playing intimate venues in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in support of her second album Matriarchy. She has since built a dedicated fanbase both online and while lighting up festival stages around the world. A true disruptor in the pop genre, girli’s music is bold, addictive and incredibly candid, with lyrics often centred on subjects such as beauty standards, mental health and the sociopolitical climate. A girli live show is a vital and life-affirming experience.
After a zero-budget music video filmed on a Ring doorbell camera sent her debut single “lego” to viral success last year, 16-year-old Maple’s Pet Dinosaur has experienced a meteoric rise. From her third-ever show at SXSW Sydney to becoming the youngest artist ever to perform at Australia’s premier alternative festival Good Things, sharing stages with heavyweights like Tool and Weezer, Maple’s Pet Dinosaur has quickly established a reputation as a must-see live act.
Having sold out and upgraded their last Australian shows in 2023 following overwhelming demand, Waterparks fans are encouraged to secure their tickets as soon as possible.
Tickets go on sale Friday 23 October at 11:00am local time, with the DAL Presale taking place from Thursday 22 October at 12:00pm AEDT.
