Hunter Announces Debut Single ‘The Ballad Of Zelda
At just 20 years old, Gold Coast singer-songwriter Hunter is set to make his mark on Australian music with the release of his debut single, “The Ballad Of Zelda”, available NOW.
Hunter has quickly emerged as one of Australia’s most exciting young pop-rock artists. His powerful voice, natural stage presence and honest songwriting have already earned him a passionate and growing fanbase, with “The Ballad Of Zelda” marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
“The Ballad Of Zelda” introduces listeners to a fictional character whose story unfolds through soaring melodies, heartfelt lyrics and infectious energy. Equal parts cinematic and relatable, the song captures the highs and lows of young love, longing and the search for connection, culminating in a dramatic ending, while showcasing Hunter’s powerful vocals and instinct for memorable hooks.
“The Ballad Of Zelda is a collision of real-world grit and historical tragedy. The initial spark came from my days busking, watching people navigate the harsh realities of homelessness and substance abuse. But the track truly found its identity after I watched The Great Gatsby and fell down a research rabbit hole into the life of Zelda Fitzgerald. Her tragic story of loss and her haunting end became the ultimate inspiration for the final version of the song.”

The release also marks Hunter’s signing with The Pushworth Group for project management and agency representation, together with ONErpm for distribution, reflecting a shared commitment to developing Hunter into one of Australia’s next major recording and touring artists.
Despite being only 20, Hunter possesses a confidence and authenticity well beyond his years. His ability to connect emotionally through his music, combined with his dynamic live performances, has positioned him as one of the country’s most promising emerging pop-rock talents.
